Lindsay, who is also VP Communications for the Huron Valley chapter of the Project Management Institute, volunteered to help with a local food bank program called Food Gatherers.
Working with a group of volunteers, Lindsay sorted two pallets of outdated fruits and vegetables in a variety of packaging and boxes. Produce that was in good condition was repacked for distribution to food pantries where those in need can shop for free. Spoiled produce was placed in a bin for composting, with carboard and other material being recycled as much as possible.
In 2018, Food Gatherers distributed 6.3 million lbs of food, the equivalent of 5.2 million meals, people in need.
Everyone at MovePlan is very proud of Lyndsay’s commitment to giving back to her local community. Great work, Lindsay!
