The future of the workplace was explored at the latest WORKTECH22 event held in Singapore this month, where MovePlan’s Stephen Fountain spoke about diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Stephen, Senior Project Director at MovePlan, was one of more than 20 speakers at the event which provided a forum for all those involved in the future of work and the workplace as well as real estate, technology and innovation.

As move and change specialists, throughout the pandemic we worked closely with our clients to support them in understanding and implementing the new ways of working during a time of major workplace upheaval. However, as we now emerge and the “new normal” becomes the “norm”, what have we learnt along the way and what lessons can we take forward with us?

While no official global data currently exists around the number of people who joined companies or started new roles during the pandemic, it’s safe to say that many people did. Trying to navigate a nascent or growing career is all the more hard when conducted virtually.

MovePlan recently held its third Workplace Experiment roundtable, with participants from across the technology, healthcare and automotive sectors. The organisations in attendance ranged from those with headcounts of 1,000 employees, to nearly 80,000 and those attending had director roles looking after real estate and workplace design strategy and experience.

Going Forward with a Clear Vision was the theme of IFMA’s fourth annual Boston FMForward Conference held at Bentley University.

There was standing room only at a conference to discuss the future of the workplace held in Florida last month. The IFMA World Workplace Conference 2021 in Kissimmee welcomed commercial facilities managers from all sectors who came together to debate and discuss the future of the workplace.

“So, how are you finding going into the office again?” The question on everyone’s lips, amongst employees and business leaders alike. The answer, on the other hand, is harder to agree on.
